Cancellation of AVE MCQ & Clinical Examinations

The AVBC takes the health and wellbeing of all our candidates seriously. The rapidly deteriorating situation with the COVID-19 pandemic is affecting most nations around the world and Australia and New Zealand are dealing with an escalating number of cases. Predictions are that the disease will continue to spread and the impacts will be felt for at least the next several months. In light of this, the only responsible action for the AVBC to take was to postpone this years’ examinations.

AVE Preliminary (MCQ) Examination 2020

The AVE Preliminary (MCQ) Examination scheduled for the 17th April 2020 is postponed. The AVBC plans to reschedule the examination as soon as it is safe to do so however this is unlikely to be before March 2021. Should it be possible sooner you will be advised with at least two months’ notice.

We appreciate that this delay in taking the MCQ will be disappointing and frustrating, but these are unprecedented times. At no time can we compromise our obligation to do as much as possible to assist to limit the spread of COVID-19.

AVE Clinical & Supplementary Examinations 2020

The AVBC has also had to make the difficult decision to cancel all AVE Clinical & Supplementary Examinations scheduled for 2020.

We are exploring options for delivery of these examinations in 2021 however this is unlikely to be before June 2021. Should it be possible sooner candidates will be advised with sufficient notice.

The AVBC understands that the cancellation of these examinations will be disruptive for candidates. Given the current uncertainty, we ask for your patience whilst we work through the challenges this presents to both candidates and staff. If you have any queries, please submit them via email to ave@avbc.asn.au email address or admin@avbc.asn.au

During this difficult time, we encourage all our candidates to take care of their own health and wellbeing.
