Important dates for candidates who wish to sit the AVE Preliminary (MCQ) Examination
The Preliminary (MCQ) Examination will next be available in April 2026. The exact date of the examination and the closing date for applications and payment will be communicated to all eligible candidates in due course.
Before applying for the MCQ examination, applicants must first undergo an eligibility assessment to sit the AVE. This process can take up to 6 weeks. Once deemed eligible, applicants will receive an MCQ application form when the enrolment window opens.
Temporary Pause on AVE Eligibility Applications
Please note that the acceptance of AVE eligibility applications is currently paused. We anticipate re-opening the application portal for new AVE eligibility applications around mid-year 2025.
AVE Final (Clinical) Examination
Clinical examination sessions are held only in Queensland, Australia. A 5-day clinical examination session is typically offered in June and November each year.
The next available sitting of the Clinical examination will be scheduled between November and December 2025. The exact dates will be advised to all eligible candidates in due course.
