AVBC Accredits the Kasetsart University Veterinary Medicine Program

Melbourne – 15 June 2026

The Australasian Veterinary Boards Council (AVBC) is delighted to announce that its Board agreed during the 4th June meeting, to accredit the Kasetsart University’s Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program with minor deficiencies. The program is accredited by AVBC until the next scheduled reaccreditation visit in 2033, subject to the receipt of satisfactory annual reports.

Professor Jacqueline Norris, representing AVBC’s Veterinary Schools Accreditation Advisory Committee (VSAAC), led the AVBC accreditation site visit team to assess the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Kasetsart University, Bangkok, Thailand from 23-28 November, 2025. The team evaluated the veterinary program against the AVBC Accreditation Standards and Methods (2024). During the site visit, the team met with staff and students and toured the facilities at the Faculty’s Bang Khen and Kamphaeng Saen campuses, including the Kasetsart University Veterinary Teaching Hospitals and the animal diagnostic centre and reviewed all aspect of their curriculum and quality assurance processes. Professor Norris acknowledged the warm welcome and excellent support provided by the staff and students of Kasetsart University throughout the visit.

Ms Kate Simkovic, AVBC’s Chief Executive Officer said, “This accreditation is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the Kasetsart University faculty and students. We are pleased to recognise the program’s high standards and commitment to veterinary medicine, and we congratulate the Faculty on this significant international milestone.”

Asst. Prof. Dr. Waraphon Phimpraphai, Dean of Kasetsart University’s Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, expressed her appreciation of the opportunity for the Faculty and its graduates to increase their international profile and contributions.

AVBC accreditation enables graduates to register as a veterinarian in Australia and New Zealand without further examination. The recognition is not retrospective in nature.
