Skills Assessment Renewal

If you have previously received a skills assessment for migration purposes from AVBC, you may wish to be reassessed for a number of reasons, including adding newly acquired qualifications and/or employment positions that were not previously assessed, or due to upcoming expiry of the original skills assessment.

The renewal application involves:

  • A reassessment of your original successful skills assessment outcome, with additional qualification or/and employment assessed.
  • Renewing the issue date (with or without an additional qualification or/and employment)

Do I still meet the requirements?

To satisfy our requirements when applying for a renewal, you must demonstrate that your skills meet the current criteria for the occupation “Veterinarian”. It is important to check the current criteria because they may have changed since your initial application.

It is your responsibility to confirm with the Department of Home Affairs as to whether you require a renewed skills assessment outcome for your intended visa application.

Please note that AVBC cannot guarantee a successful outcome as part of the renewal application process.

How long is my assessment valid for?

A positive full skills assessment outcome is usually valid for three years from its issue date. If you need a renewal of your skills assessment, you can apply at any time before your skills assessment is about to expire.

If your skills assessment was issued over 3 years previously, it cannot be renewed. You will need to submit a new skills assessment application.

How to apply

If you currently hold a positive full skills assessment within the last 3 years, you can apply for a renewal application via the Application Portal selecting the “SKILLS ASSESSMENT RENEWAL” option and pay a reduced fee.

If you apply outside of the three-year time limit period, you will need to submit a NEW skills assessment application and pay the full fee. You will also need to email skills@avbc.asn.au with a notification of your application and provide your AVBC reference number to proceed.

We do not ask for all previously submitted documents to be provided with a renewal application. Please review the following documents before proceeding with your application:
