STEP 1: Eligibility Assessment

In order to sit the Australasian Veterinary Examination, you must undergo a formal assessment of your eligibility to sit the examination. This initial assessment is called the AVE Eligibility Assessment.

You must meet the following criteria:

1. Veterinary Qualification

You must hold a primary veterinary degree or diploma awarded after at least four years of study.

Your veterinary school must appear on the AVMA ECFVG®-listed Veterinary Colleges of the World or be part of a college or university listed in the World List of Universities.

2. Veterinary Registration

You must be registered, licensed or eligible to be recognised as a veterinarian of good standing in the country in which you studied or worked.

3. English Language Ability

You must meet the AVBC English Language standards without exception.
