Updated Information about the AVE Preliminary (MCQ) Examination and AVE Eligibility Applications

AVE Eligibility and AVE Preliminary (MCQ) Examination – Application Opening Dates

The AVBC application portal will open for acceptance of new AVE eligibility applications and MCQ 2027 applications at 10.00am Monday 5 October 2026 AEDT.

Before submitting an AVE Eligibility Assessment application, you will need to register as a Contact via the online portal. Once registered, you can submit your AVE Eligibility Assessment application when the portal opens.

The closing date for submission of new AVE eligibility applications will be Monday, 11 January 2027.

Please note: The AVE Eligibility Assessment application portal may close earlier, and at short notice, due to AVBC operational requirements. Accordingly, applicants are strongly encouraged to submit their applications promptly and ensure all required documentation is complete, accurate, and fully compliant at the time of submission

If deemed eligible, candidates may be invited to apply for the AVE Preliminary (MCQ) Examination.

AVE Preliminary (MCQ) Examination Date

The next sitting of the AVE Preliminary (MCQ) Examination will be held on Friday, 16 April 2027.

Applications for the MCQ will close on Monday, 25 January 2027.

No late applications or payments will be accepted. No payment terms can be offered.

Please note: MCQ Applications may close earlier, and at short notice, due to AVBC operational requirements. Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit their MCQ applications promptly.

AVE Clinical Examination

AVE Clinical Examination sessions are held in Queensland only. These are typically offered in June and November each year and run over five days. The next available Clinical Examination session will be held between November and December 2026. Exact dates will be provided to eligible candidates in due course.
