The Australasian Veterinary Boards Council (AVBC) would like to inform all stakeholders about upcoming changes to Migration Skills Assessment fees. These changes will take effect from January 6, 2025.
Overview
The AVBC is the designated skills assessing authority for veterinarians seeking to migration to Australia under the Skilled Occupation List. Our role is to assess the skills, qualifications and work experience of international veterinarians to ensure they meet the standards required for skilled migration in Australia. You can apply for a Migration Skills Assessment with AVBC if you:
- Have a veterinary qualification on the list of qualifications generally recognised by AVBC
- Hold full registration (without conditions) with an Australian Veterinary Registration Board
- Meet AVBC’s English Language Standards
New Fee Structure
- Standard Application Fee: Increasing from $495 to $620
- Renewal Fee: Increasing from $150 to $300
Please note that the above fees do not include the Australian Goods and Services Tax (GST), which will apply to applications from individuals currently residing in Australia. These adjustments are necessary to address the costs of service delivery and to ensure that the assessment process continues to maintain high standards of integrity and efficiency.
Any applications submitted before January 6, 2025, will be assessed at the current fee rates. We also recommend that all applicants review the specific visa requirements with the Department of Home Affairs to stay informed. Should you have any queries or require further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.
