THE OPPORTUNITY
Australasian Veterinary Boards Council (AVBC Inc) ensures the quality of the veterinary profession in Australia and New Zealand.
Operations Manager is an expanded position in the seven-member AVBC staff team as our first Office Manager is retiring after 12 years. You will build on a solid foundation to ensure the smooth running of the organisation as you help guide the next stage of AVBC development.
The role supports the Finance, Audit and Risk Management Committee and spans routine and strategic finance/business management, human resources, policy, and technology.

On any day, AVBC staff and volunteers may be running a workshop, organising university accreditation site visits, preparing examinations for overseas veterinarians, taking minutes for Council meetings, or carrying out assessments for specialist registration.
You will foster continuous improvement and responsiveness in collaboration with staff who set high standards for themselves and list values such as transparency, compassion, fairness, reliability, and “combining our individual strengths into super-charged resourcefulness”.
Tertiary qualifications and/or experience in one or more specialty areas would be valuable for this role. You might have experience in areas such as accounting, business administration, law, bookkeeping, or a professional degree including veterinary science itself. Practical skills in several of the following: MYOB, Word, Excel, databases, and CRMs and/or the ability to pick up new skills are essential. AVBC personnel are multi-faceted and your skills will complement those of our staff, volunteers, committees and contractors.
